From Barnes & Noble

The Barnes & Noble Review
SharePoint’s “out of the box” solutions have driven it into thousands of businesses. Now developers want to know just how much more it can do. The answer: Plenty. The guide: Advanced SharePoint Services Solutions.

Scot P. Hillier illuminates Collaborative Application Markup Language, the language that defines SharePoint’s sites and lists, and exposes the key database tables, web services, and communication protocols SharePoint relies on. Manipulate these, and you can do incredible stuff. (Or wreak havoc. Hillier shows how not to.)

You’ll also learn how to customize navigation and search (without wrecking performance); build slicker Web Parts faster; and integrate SharePoint with BizTalk Server and Content Management Server (until now, poorly documented). Finally, if your company’s focused on driving better real-time performance, don’t miss Hilliard’s intro to the Business Scorecards Accelerator. Bill Camarda, from the February 2005 Read Only
