Overview

This book provides an integrated perspective on the recent advances in the development of effective biological systems using molecular biological techniques for biochemical production and analysis.

Synopsis

Recent research on biochemical production collected here examines microbial and enzymatic systems, animal cell systems, and combinatorial engineering and analytical methods. Expression systems discussed in various chapters are used for the production of organic acids, specialty sugars, enzymes, and antibodies. Much of the material was presented at the December 2000 PacifiChem 2000 conference, held in Honolulu, Hawaii. Marten is affiliated with the University of Maryland.
