Children's Literature -
This clear, easy-to-follow book presents the features and purpose of the castle. A list of six descriptive terms keyed to a color diagram begins the book. After that, facing pages carry brief text on the left side and full-page color illustrations on the right. Most of the illustrations are exterior and interior photographs, but one color drawing shows meal preparation in the kitchen. The text describes the exterior stone walls, moat, and drawbridge, but focuses primarily on the function of the different spaces inside the castle. Four challenge words and their definitions follow the text, and an index is included. The book is part of the "Bookworms" series called "The Inside Story."Book Details
