Marilyn Courtot - Children's Literature
The kids are going to put on a cat show. They gather them together and then try sorting them out based on similar characteristics. For example: big cats versus small cats, striped versus non-striped, blue eyes versus green eyes, etc. Just as soon as they get them sorted something happens to get the cats all mixed up again. Finally after chasing a mouse, they all come together and, in an exhausted pile, fall asleep. By this time the parents have arrived to see the show and remark about how cute all the sleeping cats are. Part of the "All Aboard Math Reader" series. A Station Stop 1 book. 2003, Grosset & Dunlap/Penguin Putnam Books for Young Readers, Ages 4 to 7.
