Gr 4-9 Schneiderman's book presents a complete picture of the history of computers. He begins with the abacus and Napier's bones. Other chapters cover Hollerith's tabulating machine and the start of IBM, the huge first-generation computers, the development of transistors and the third- and fourth-generation computers.
