Synopsis
Though the term creativity has been so heavily used, so cheapened by casual opportunism and self-serving deceit, that it is nearly emptied of soul, Negus (musicology, U. of London) and Pickering (culture and communications, Loughborough U.) believe it can be saved. They set out to clear some of the accumulated debris surrounding the notion of creativity, and provide a more refined understanding of it as a concept. Their goal is not a narrow, reductionist definition, but a critical approach that restores the legacies it carries. Annotation ©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
