Children's Literature - Amie Rose Rotruck

The weather might seem too large and uncontrollable for one to conduct experiments, but this excellent work contains numerous weather-related experiments. Chapter one explains air pressure and how various types of barometers work. Chapter two examines rain and other forms of precipitation. Chapter three is more complex, explaining how one builds a weather station and how it works. Chapter four is a potpourri of weather, wind, sky, rainbows, and sunrises. Chapter five is of particular concern these days: global warming. Experiments described include measuring how CO2 amounts affect temperature, how to measure relative humidity, and drawing a weather map. These well-written experiments allow a complicated topic to become less intimidating. The theory is well explained and the steps are detailed and easy to follow. This book could be used for many years, with the student starting with simple experiments and gradually increasing in complexity. From the "Easy Genius Science Projects" series.
