PreS The title tells it all for this slight book about getting dressed. Tyrrell uses simple rhyming verses to describe Elizabeth Jane's progress, and Castle uses soft pastel colors and clear line drawings with plenty of white on the page to illustrate each verse. Every page shows the little girl, first nude, in the throes of dressing. She is surrounded by various stuffed animals who are also trying to dress or are watching. The text starts on Monday and continues through to Sunday, by which time Elizabeth Jane has progressed enough to ``dress herself now for ever and ever.'' She has confronted both physical obstacles such as buttons and shoes to match, and lack of motivation. A reassuring book, but for most readers it will be a very quick turn through.
