Synopsis

Seven essays explore how cognitive therapy and theory might be informed by evolution theory. Mental health researchers in Europe and North America consider specific orientations such as evolutionary approaches to psychopathology and cognitive therapy and cognitive bases of evolutionary kinship therapy; and specific disorders such as fear and anxiety, and command hallucinations. The studies have been expanded from articles in a special 2002 issue of the Journal of Cognitive Psychotherapy. Annotation ©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
