Synopsis
Massey explores how the implicit assumptions we make about space are important, and how, perhaps, it would be productive to think about space differently. She shows how thinking about space has been a confining activity, whether within culture or in its expressions in the arts and literature. She explores synchrony, the horizontal nature of deconstruction, and how what we think we know about our spaces determine identity. She continues by making the history of modernity spatial rather than temporal, while also considering aspatiality. She advocates reorienting our thoughts to include reordering our politics.
