Gr 1-2 --Beginning readers who like farm animals will be attracted to these books because of the excellent color photographic covers. This fine quality continues throughout each title, but occasionally drawings are interspersed, seemingly at random, when a photograph would have done just as nicely. The text is very simple, almost to the point of sounding like those first-grade readers of the 1950s. Information given is accurate, but there are some misleading omissions in each.
