About the Author, Caroline Miller

Novelist Caroline Miller finished her first novel, a fictionalized memoir called HEART LAND, early in 2009. GOTHIC SPRING, her second novel, was published later that same year. It is is a classic page-turner centering on a talented young woman who is tormented by her passions, the repressions of her live, and the mysterious death of the vicar’s wife. This novel is being reissued in print format by Koho Pono and is available as an eBook. Caroline's third novel will be published in 2012.

Miller is a prolific member of PEN. Her short stories have thrilled readers in publications such as "Children's Digest", "Grit" and "Tales of the Talisman". One of her short stories, UNDER THE BRIDGE AND BENEATH THE MOON, was dramatized for radio.

Caroline holds a B.A. and M.A.T. degree from Reed College and graduated with an M.A. with honors in Literature from Northern Arizona University. She is also a talented painter whose silk pieces have been shown in Portland art galleries and featured in juried exhibitions.

Caroline headed the Portland Federation of Teachers. She taught English at both the high school and university level. She headed the Portland Federation of Teachers and is enshrined in Oregon’s Labor Hall of Fame.

During her tenure as an elected member of the county commission of Multnomah County, Oregon, Ms. Miller strongly advocated for the need for government and individuals to cooperate to provided educational and community services. She also served a term as one of the original METRO councilors.
