Overview

Immunochemistry is of immense importance to virtually all areas of modern biology and medicine. Immunochemistry I and its companion volume, Immunochemistry II, offer a comprehensive compendium of the latest techniques in immunochemistry in a clear and accessible format. Volume II describes step-by-step methods for the measurement of immunologically relevant molecules, the use of antibodies as highly specific analytical probes, and as separation tools in fluorescence, blotting, and affinity chromatography. It includes chapters on the measurement of antibody affinity, solid phase assays of avidity, the use of synthetic peptides and liposomes in immunology, immunofluorescence and immunoenzyme histochemistry, confocal laser scanning microscopy, flow cytometry, the analysis of adhesion molecules, immunochemical assays for complement components, and assays for complement receptors. Each chapter includes clear technical advice, hints and tips, and sample results to help insure practical success. As such, these two volumes will be a valuable resource for all researchers in immunology, biochemistry, and medicine.

The book contains predominantly black-and-white illustrations, with some color illustrations.
