Allen, a master craftsman, offers this clear, concise, and profusely illustrated book on the basic techniques of joining wooden surfaces. Each joint is discussed in detail, and methods for their creation are laid out. Safety tips are discussed where appropriate. As Allen describes each joint, he relates and differentiates it from the others he has discussed and suggests when one joint might be more appropriate than another. The illustrations, both drawings and photographs, are clear and relate well to the text on the page.
