Synopsis

They’re back! Hilarious and hair-raising, these internationally best-selling pop-ups make the perfect Halloween treats.

"This little monster plays with his food.
This little monster’s rather rude. . . . "

And you’ve never seen monsters like these! Wiggly and squiggly, splashy and flashy, these creatures leap out in comic glory. When a spectacled specimen pops up at the end, kids can peer into its lenses and laugh at the silliest monster of all.

Children's Literature

Jan Pienkowski is a master at creating pop-up books and this revival of an early popular one is, as it was then, a delight. Five pages of non-threatening but strange little creatures are pictured and described. One plays with his food, one is very rude, one wants to fight and another is up all night. The last page asks how many monsters are in the book, and the little monster on that page invites the reader to give him a kiss and have a look in his very large reflective eyeglasses! The layout is simple. Five large and funny monster faces pop up from white backgrounds to surprise and delight. This is a bundle of inexpensive fun for any preschooler. Reviewer: Eleanor Heldrich
