Gr 4-6-These revisions (Creative Education, 1994; 1995) have some textual changes, added activities, and new color photos. Hurricanes provides definitions and information on the causes and prediction of these destructive storms. Two projects, making a barometer and charting wind speeds, are included. Mountains covers the types, formation, climate, and ecosystems of these landforms and the need for conservation. Step-by-step instructions for creating an erupting volcano are provided. The texts are interesting and informative, but the glossy photos are not as powerful as the original illustrations, partly due to their smaller size. Throughout the volumes, words are highlighted in bright colors and a different font; most can be understood in context but not all, and there are no glossaries.-Sandra Welzenbach, Villarreal Elementary School, San Antonio, TX
