Papers collected here, from a May 2001 conference held in Val<`e>ncia, Spain, present recent research in areas such as image formation by beam shaping, micro-optical elements and optoelectronic devices for optical interconnect applications, fractional Fourier optics and applications, dispersion-compensated broadband optical correlators, and nonlinear femtosecond information processing systems.
