"Psychlit, Medline," and "Social Science Citation Index" were searched for the period 1970 to 1995 in order to present a sampling of the research in group treatment during the past quarter century. Forty-nine percent of the 1,793 items presented here are annotated. Entries are arranged by age categorization: children, adolescents, college students, adults, and the elderly. The most extensive categories include alcoholism, anxiety, depression, long- and short- term treatment, outcome research, self-help groups, and stress and relaxation.
