Children's Literature
In another book in the "X-Treme Sports" series, Stephanie Hedlund introduces the early reader to the fascinating sport of snowboarding. As with other book of the series, this one provides some details and history of the sport but lacks sufficient information to really grab readers. The tone of the book is fairly straight forward, not written to elicit much excitement on the part of the reader. Yet, for the beginner interested in this sport, the book might be a good introduction. Photographs included in the book do not follow the sections and provide little illumination of the sectional topics covered. As with other books, the "Trick" and "Lingo" sections are helpful and any younger reader would find them interesting. Included in the back of the book is a small glossary as well as an index and Web site section.
