Children's Literature -
Princess Isabella is about to become queen, but first she must prove her worth and go on a quest to find jewels for her crown. Her fairy godmother gives her a scroll that outlines the test and lists the characteristics she must display in order to become queen. Before she can begin, Isabella must choose the perfect horse to accompany her. She chooses Penny the Shetland pony, not for his strength or speed, but because he is the smartest and he is Isabella's favorite. During the journey, Isabella and Penny work together as they pass through the woods, a river, the desert, and mountains to collect jewels for her crown. Once the jewels are found, the quest is complete and Isabella becomes queen. This is a beginning reader book and is part of the "Breyer Stablemates" collection. It features one of the Stablemates horses and includes facts and a photographic keepsake card of the featured pony. It is adequate as an early reader book and nice for young collectors of the Breyer horses but not particularly memorable.Book Details
