Overview
This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of two joint RECOMB 2006 satellite events: the Second Annual Workshop on Systems Biology, RSB 2006, and the First Biennial Workshop on Computational Proteomics, RCP 2006, held in San Diego, CA, USA in December 2006. The papers cover various aspects of systems biology and explore the use of computational mass spectrometry in various proteomic applications.
Synopsis
This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of two joint RECOMB 2006 satellite events - the Second Annual Workshop on Systems Biology, RSB 2006, and the First Biennial Workshop on Computational Proteomics, RCP 2006, held in San Diego, CA, USA in December 2006.
The 9 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from around 50 submissions to both events. The papers of the Systems Biology meeting cover various aspects of systems biology, including integration of genome-wide microarray, proteomic, and metabolomic data, inference and comparison of biological networks, and model testing through design of experiments. The Computational Proteomics meeting focused on on computational mass spectrometry. The papers explore the use of this technology in various proteomic applications, such as protein identification and quantification in specific cellular environments, structural genomics, networks of protein interaction, and post-translational modifications.
