YA-- A wealth of information for science enthusiasts, nature lovers, or students who have no idea where to begin working on a science project. Each chapter gives just enough information to get started, and lists addresses and telephone numbers for agencies that may provide more information, books for further readings, and places to visit for on-site experience. The book is arranged by topic, with each chapter ranging from two to six pages, so browsing is easy. The writing is chatty and appealing. Cautions to insure the safety of those involved in the projects, as well as the environment, are included when needed.
