Children's Literature - Judy Katsh

The only thing weird and wacky about this book is its title. But, if the title is what sells this book to kids, then it is a good choice. Markle's book is filled with more than a dozen opportunities for readers to learn and investigate interesting things about themselves and their world. The introduction offers kids a 5-point plan for approaching problem-solving situations of any kind. The plan is written in kid-friendly, plain English and may remind some adult readers of the Scientific Method. The activities themselves are mostly hands-on and use easily acquired supplies and materials. Science teachers, budding scientists, and families looking for a weekend project will all be able to use this book-and enjoy it.
