Over the years, Bailey, the in-house photographer of the Guild of Master Craftsman, has written several articles for New Woodworking and the Router magazines. This title collects more than 30 of those articles, covering biscuit jointers, numerous project plans, and two series. Bailey is particularly adept at the use of his favorite tool, the biscuit joiner; readers are offered eight articles that cover standard operations plus a number of advanced techniques such as making decorative moldings. Projects range from a blanket chest to a chessboard to a three-part series on crafting a bed. The eight-part "Mechanics of Making" takes a project from design through completion and shows how professional woodworkers would organize their work to maximize efficiency.
