Synopsis

When Ziggy and Shayla attempt to rescue their parents from the belly of a giant jellyfish, they embark on a funny and fantastical adventure featuring a slew of creative characters such as Admiral Crushmore, the pilot of a breakdancing mini-submarine. Jam-packed with crazy underwater action, several sticky situations, and lots and lots of jelly, this novel will engage young readers with its irresistible combination of outrageous circumstances and two clever kids.

Children's Literature

Ziggy Plunkett has an adventurous soul. His parents, on the other hand, are ruffled by crowds and the lack of breakfast. That is why it was such a shock that Mr. and Mrs. Plunkett were crazy enough to provoke a giant jellyfish, which swallowed them whole. Ziggy and his new friend, Shayla (whose dad got swallowed by the same jellyfish while trying to rescue the Plunketts), must outwit a crazy submarine admiral in order to save their parents. This zany story will have readers laughing at the stupidity of adults and snickering at the antics of the young heroes. Although most readers might question the probability of Ziggy and Shayla sneaking aboard a moving submarine or tricking the admiral into rescuing the "Ostra-Aliens" [Australians]; readers will snicker their way through the rest of the story. If readers enjoy this book, they can look for others by this zany author from down under.
