100 Days Of Monsters

Hello.

My name is Stefan G. Bucher, and you're looking at a collection of my monsters.

For 100 days, I filmed myself putting a few drops of ink on a piece of paper each day and transforming the resulting blot into a new monster. Every night I posted the result on my website dailymonster.com and stood back in wonder as visitors from all over the world told me the amazing stories behind each creature.

Well ... hang on ... they actually might. But I made sure they all had their rabies shots before I sent the book to print. Just look out for Monsters 44 and 57. And for No.79. He just gets too excited. And No.82. He's got a circular saw for a hand, and he's off his medication. Other than that you should be fine!

Based on designer and illustrator Stefan Bucher's dailymonster.com website, 100 Days of Monsters showcases an array of original ink-blot monster creations accompanied by fun stories. The project began as a creative challenge to create a new monster every day for 100 days. Buchner posted each monster and mini-movie to the web and invited visitors to contribute stories about the monsters. This book/DVD set compiles all the illustrations, selected stories, and mini-movies of the creation of each monster to provide a fun and quirky celebration of illustration, design, creativity and collaboration.

Stefan G. Bucher has designed CD packages for a range of recording artists including Whitney Houston and Sting as well as a number of indie artists. He designed the award-winning American Photography 17 annual and was selected by New York's Art Directors Club for their biennial "Young Guns" exhibit in 2004. He is a frequent speaker at professional and student design events.
