Overview

Pope John Paul II referred to the Holy Eucharist as "the greatest treasure of the Church," and yet even many devoted Catholics have a very limited understanding of this powerful sacrament. This book will change all that. The reader will come away with a completely new awareness that the Eucharist is not just about receiving Communion; it's about transforming your daily life.

Deeply based on the Scriptures, the writings of the Saints, and the teachings of our two most recent Popes, this profound and remarkably readable book will introduce you to some of the "hidden" truths of the Eucharist — truths that have always been embraced by theologians, saints, and mystics, but have rarely been passed on to the average person in a meaningful way. In The Seven Secrets of the Eucharist, these truths are finally made accessible to all, as author Vinny Flynn shows how each reception of Holy Communion can be a life-changing experience.

No matter how much or how little you already know about the Eucharist, the "secrets" revealed here will bring you to a new, personal "Emmaus" experience, again and again. Perfect for personal devotion, catechesis, study groups, book clubs, and theological studies, The Seven Secrets of the Eucharist will rekindle the "Eucharistic amazement" called for by Pope John Paul II.

About the Author, Vinny Flynn

Known to many as “the man who sings the Divine Mercy Chaplet on EWTN,” Vinny Flynn has been involved in a ministry of mercy for over thirty years, using his gifts of teaching, writing, counseling, music, and prayer to help people understand the teachings of the Church and open their hearts to the healing touch of God’s love.

As a teacher and counselor for fourteen years, Vinny experienced first-hand how much healing is needed in the world. Feeling called to respond to this need, he began using his gifts in full-time religious ministry. His powerful teachings on Divine Mercy, Mary, the Sacraments, and the Father’s love have made him a popular speaker at parish missions, conferences, and retreats.

A former Executive Editor at the Marian Helpers Center and former General Manager of Divine Mercy International, Vinny was actively involved in spreading the message of Divine Mercy, presenting workshops for religious and lay leaders, and writing or editing various Divine Mercy publications, including the official English edition of the Diary of St. Faustina. His personal, straight-forward style of writing makes theological concepts and the teachings of the Church come alive with new meaning and relevancy. Co-author of The Divine Mercy Message and Devotion, Vinny has also published articles in various Catholic periodicals, including Catholic Digest, Legatus, Queen, Columbia, Marian Helper, and The Friends of Mercy Newsletter.

Vinny’s book 7 Secrets of the Eucharist has been acclaimed by Cardinal George Pell as “a must read for Catholics.” Published in 2007, the book has remained on the Top 10 Best Sellers list for Ignatius Press. Now in its tenth printing (over 60,000 copies sold), 7 Secrets of the Eucharist is also available as an audiobook (2 CDs). A Spanish edition has also been released, and Italian, Polish, and Portuguese editions are in progress.

Vinny is currently Director of MercySong, a family-based 501(c)(3) Catholic not-for-profit ministry dedicated to bringing healing to others by leading them to a personal experience of the Father’s love through music, teaching, writing, counseling, and prayer.
