Mr. McGee and his dog Dee set off for an adventure of camping. The trip was planned out, the weather was great, and all was as it should be. That is, until night came and both were sleeping. A bear smelled the marshmallows that had been toasted over the campfire and came to camp to get his treat, but he accidentally unhitched the trailer from the car. The trailer ran straight down hill. It landed in a stream and headed straight for the waterfall. When Mr. Magee and Dee look out the window, they see the falls in front of them and the bear coming up on their side. Will they be able to get out of this predicament? The story line is simple, fun, and done in rhyme that is pleasing when reading it aloud. This is a great book to use for reinforcing rhyming patterns with small children. Children and adults will enjoy the illustrations and will want to revisit this book together many times. 2003, Chronicle Books LLC, Ages 4 to 7.β Kathie M. Josephs
