About the Author, Jonathan Swift

Jonathan Swift was born in Dublin, Ireland on November 30th 1667. He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin. Swift was an active participant in the intellectual and political life of Great Britain and Ireland. He moved back and forth between Ireland and England many times during his adult life. Swift was ordained as an Anglican priest in 1695, and later served for many years as the Dean of St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin. Jonathan Swift died on October 19th, 1745.
