From The Critics

Reviewer: Paul H. Keckley, PhD(Vanderbilt University Medical Center)
Description: This is handbook written for distribution to groups and used in the context of an organization's training programs. It is simple and handy.
Purpose: This is a handout tool used in tandem with a group's training program. It is a quick read, intended as a high level overview for audiences with no prior exposure to the content.
Audience: It appears to be written for employees and managers in hospitals, ambulatory facilities, and medical groups. The illustrations are primarily hospital-focused, but the principles and explanations are adaptable to these other settings.
Features: The booklet is written to be quickly read. It does not provide in-depth explanations or illustrations. The small pages limit presentation of extensive charts or tables that might otherwise be helpful. It is, nonetheless, well-written in a simple, easy to understand manner.
Assessment: This is a handout tool useful in the context of a training program. In conjunction with practical instruction and additional case studies, it is quite helpful.
