PreS-K-- Utilizing a single landscape, Florian visually chronicles the monthly changes that occur on a farm and its surrounding countryside. The name of each month appears in boldface type in the upper left-hand corner of each double-page watercolor-and-ink spread. Earth tones--specifically browns, greens, oranges, and yellows--dominate these naive-style renditions. While there are no surprises in this straightforward offering (January brings snow, April, rain, etc.), and the overall effect is a bit bland, this should have some instructional value for preschoolers. --Julie Corsaro, University of Chicago Laboratory Schools
