Synopsis

Why are some families on a course of destruction while other families skip blissfully through life? Is it genetics, or environment, that influence the direction they take?

Across the Creek is a contemporary novel where two such families collide when a thief discovers a skeleton uncovered on a couple's property is his great-grandfather. How could the couple have known the skeleton buried for almost a hundred years, would not only bring the sheriff, but also the media, hundreds of sightseers, and the great-grandson of the murdered man to their mountain retreat.

The discovery unleashed a series of events on the unsuspecting couple. Fueled by the thief's desire to discover his family history; he takes them on a journey filled with deceit, theft, revenge, and death. Can the wife convince the small town deputy the strange incidents occurring on their property are the results of a man who keeps popping up in their life. She cannot even convince her own husband!

The reader becomes aware the great-grandson will use all his skills to gain entry into their family and onto the property to discover his family history. Will the unsuspecting couple become aware of his motives before it's too late?
