About the Author, Tom Jackson

Tom Jackson is an expert in the area of active learning. He received his M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Southern California. Tom is the author of five books, Activities That Teach, More Activities That Teach, Activities That Teach Family Values, Still More Activities That Teach and Conducting Group Discussions With Kids. For twelve years Tom was a high school teacher in Southern California and for thirteen years served as a substance abuse prevention specialist in Southern Utah. He is currently the Director of the Active Learning Center and Foundation. He was named 1996 Utah Chemical Health Educator of the Year. Tom has served as a member of the K-12 Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Curriculum Steering Committee for the Utah State Office of Education and sat on the Governor of Utah’s Substance Abuse and Anti-Violence Coordinating Council. He has a number of published articles, is a popular conference presenter and has conducted workshops throughout the United States and Canada.
