Overview

Adults are attending college in record numbers. Some begin college for the first time as adults, and others return to finish what they started as teenagers. Of more than 14 million students in the nation's colleges and universities, about 40% are over age 24 and considered nontraditional students. Nontraditional students go to college because they choose to go, not because of expectations of or pressure from parents or others. Nontraditional students make personal commitments and, often, great sacrifices to attend college. They juggle jobs, families, and class work with a phenomenal determination. This book is for those students. Adults in College addresses the fears of adult college students, provides the inspiration they need to overcome the obstacles they face, and supplies the nuts-and-bolts information they need to succeed.
