Overview

Richard Jefferies' novel After London is an early example of post-apocalyptic fiction, written in two parts, the first describing nature reclaiming England after it has been almost depopulated by some grand event. The second part an adventure story of the survivors descendants coping with a changed land. Many of the earliest books, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive.
