Llywelyn-Williams (1913-88) is unusual because he turned away from his first language, English, and became an important poet and critic in Welsh. He strongly advocated the acknowledgement of the modern world in Welsh poetry, and so is analogous to the post-romantic English poets Auden and Eliot. Here a colleague and friend reviews his life and work. No index. Acidic paper. Distributed by Books International. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
