Children's Literature -
Sharks, squid, and sea horses are some of the animals that may be found at the aquarium. Peruse the pages to read about different aquatic animals. The chapter about crabs and lobsters briefly describes these crustaceans. The colored photographs of the lobster and boxer crab have captions that explain how a lobster eats or how a boxer crab uses sea anemones. A snapshot and description of a hermit crab is included in this chapter. There are insets in the layout. One inset locates the lobster's habitat in the world, another lists an endangered crab, and a third inset called "Zoo View" describes how Australia's scientists are creating habitats for sea animals that lost their homes due to the construction of a sea wall. The bold print word on a page can be found in the glossary. Besides the chapter addressing crabs and lobsters, readers can examine the table of contents or the index to see which other aquatic animals are included. This book is part of the series, "My Day at the Zoo" which features birds, mammals, and reptiles. Guidance may be needed to navigate the text on the page which is differentiated by fonts and blocks of print. A consultant is listed in the book but, it does not specify the area of expertise.
