PreS-Gr 4-This series of children's Bible stories is condensed from the Word & Song Bible by Stephen Elkins (Broadman, 1999). The first portion of each title contains narrated Bible stories from the New International Version of the Holy Bible. The narration is performed by children as well as well-know Christian personalities such as Max Lucado, Steve Green, Steve and Annie Chapman, Rebecca St. James and Larnelle Harris, among others. The stories are further enhanced with appropriate nature sound effects and musical interludes. Among the stories are "Daniel and the Lion's Den," "Ruth and Naomi," "Esau and Jacob," "The Good Samaritan," "One Lost Sheep," and many many others. The recording faithfully follows the text, which will make these stories helpful to emergent readers. Colorful cartoon-style illustrations further add to the series' appeal. Each title contains approximately ten stories, followed by a similar number of sing-along songs chosen to accompany the theme. All the songs are performed by The Wonder Kids Choir. Lively and familiar, the songs complement the stories nicely.
