Synopsis

Before he was considered a CIA super-agent, before he was thought of as a terrorist's worst nightmare, and before he was both loathed and admired by politicians, Mitch Rapp was just a smart, good-looking, all-American college kid. But 35 of his classmates, including his girlfriend, perished on Pan Am flight 103, and Mitch has been simmering ever since.

When CIA Director Irene Kennedy pays a visit to Syracuse University, Mitch's chance to avenge the senseless deaths of his friends presents itself. Nine months later, he finds himself on his first assignment: to assassinate the Turkish arms dealer who sold the explosives used in the Pan Am attack. Though his mission is successful, his own mentor and fellow recruit are kidnapped in retaliation. As Mitch goes all-out to save them, he also learns a valuable lesson about the world of counterterrorism.
