About the Author, Allan C. Ornstein

Allan Ornstein (Ph.D., New York University) is Professor of Education at St. John's University in New York. He is the author of more than 55 texts and 400 articles and research papers, and has served as a consultant for more than 60 government and educational agencies. He is a co-author of FOUNDATIONS OF EDUCATION, now in its eleventh edition (Wadsworth Cengage Learning).

Daniel Levine is former Professor of Education at the University of Nebraska. The coauthor of the seventh edition of the classic text by Robert J. Havighurst, SOCIETY AND EDUCATION, Dr. Levine has also authored numerous journal articles and papers on the topic of urban education.
