A text for a freshman or sophomore course in experimental physics for science or engineering students. Taylor (physics, U. of Colorado- Boulder) acknowledges that error analysis would be only a minor part of such a course, but believes it is too often short-changed so that students recite its equations without understanding them or their rationale. The second edition nearly doubles the number of problems, inserts exercises throughout the text, and adds or changes other features, but retains the extraordinary photograph on the cover. The Cip data does not include the subtitle. Annotation c. by Book News, Inc., Portland, Or.
