Synopsis
Based on tutorials delivered at an April 2001 workshop in Holland, 18 papers discuss current trends and techniques in scalable analog circuit design, high-speed digital/analog converters, and RF power amplifiers. The first section addresses the scalability issues of high resolution mixed mode circuit design, high voltage IC design for XDSL, wire-line front-ends, and reusable IP analog circuit design. Other topics include a retargetable CMOS current steering converter, track-and-hold topologies that avoid retiming and latency issues, class-E power amplifier principles and design equations, linear transmitter architectures, and silicon bipolar implementations. Contains 18 revised papers from an April 1995 workshop on analog circuit design, held in Villach, Austria, arranged in three sections on low-noise, low-power, low-voltage; mixed-mode design with CAD tools; and voltage, current, and time references. Specific topics include low-noise oscillators, autozeroing and correlated double sampling techniques, CAD simulation for mixed signal design, computer- aided testability analysis for analog circuits, monolithic voltage and current references, and crystal oscillators. Includes section introductions. No index. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
