The cover makes a statement that this board book depicts children and their animal friends and that it takes a global look. Beautiful, full-color photographs show children in Africa, Asia, Australia and other parts of the world cuddling with dogs, billy goats, birds, kittens and guinea pigs. Other creatures don't really seem to fit the cuddly pet category—a large land tortoise and a goldfish. Otherwise, young toddlers won't mind and will be fascinated with the pictures of children enjoying a wide variety of pets. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to the Global Fund for Children to support community-based education programs around the world.—Marilyn Courtot
