About the Author, Stahl, Stephen M. , Muntner, Nancy

Stephen M. Stahl is Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry at the University of California at San Diego. He has conducted numerous research projects awarded by the National Institute of Mental Health, the Veterans Administration, and the pharmaceutical industry. Author of more than 200 articles and chapters, Dr Stahl is an internationally recognized clinician, researcher, and teacher in psychiatry with subspecialty expertise in psychopharmacology.

Description: Most clinicians will find this psychopharmacology book useful in helping them to understand the area better. It is written in a very matter-of-fact way, making it easier to understand complicated issues. There is a thorough discussion of the many unanswered and unexplained findings in this burgeoning new area.
Purpose: The intent is to present the fundamentals of schizophrenia neurobiology and treatment in a simplified and readily readable form.
Audience: Intended for those interested in the psychopharmacological treatment of psychosis and schizophrenia, the book is useful for medical students, residents, physicians, and general psychiatrists. It can even be useful for psychopharmacologists, helping them in their teaching endeavors.
