About the Author, Karima Parry

Karima Parry has over 25 years of experience in all phases of the antiques business, from buyer to appraiser to auction cataloger to seller. In the mid-1990s, she opened Plastic Fantastic, a website specializing in Bakelite and other vintage plastic jewelry. She soon followed with a book, "Bakelite Bangles Price and Identification Guide," and today she is considered one of the leading experts in this field.

While this doesn't include every old book, it does feature 25,000 listings of those most likely to be located. Gene Florence's Elegant Glassware Of The Depression Era (195-1, $19.95) provides the 9th edition of an identification and value guide to Cambridge, Fostoria, Heisey and other types of glassware. Color photos do a fine job of identifying these pieces. Don't miss the updated Antiques Price Guide (204-4, $14.95) which appears in its updated edition for 2001 and includes the latest prices for everything from glass and furniture to marine collectibles. Few photos - all in black and white - but the prices are the latest. All are important, basic guides for any avid collector.
