Synopsis
This book was conceived as the Third Edition of Introduction to Sedimentology, published first in 1976, then again in 1982. This book is divided into three parts on "real rock" sedimentology: Rock to Sediment, Sediment Sedimented, and Sediment to Rock, reflecting the closed nature of the sedimentary cycle. Each part is introduced with an appropriate quotation from Sir Charles Lyell's seminal Elements of Geology, which first appeared in 1838.Book Details
