Booknews

New edition of a resource that presents key theories and research to help career counselors assist clients. Sharf (U. of Delaware) focuses on one theory per chapter, showing how each can be applied to counseling and how it can be a guide to the use of occupational information, tests, inventories, and other tools that help provide insight into career concerns. Topics include trait and type, life-span and special focus theories, and theoretical integration. New features include a chapter on constructivist approaches (replacing the former one on psychodynamic approaches) and material on cognitive information processing theory. Annotation c.
