About the Author, Lesley Durbin

The author began work in architectural ceramic conservation in 1983 with the Ironbridge Gorge Museum, and became head of the conservation department the following year. From 1987 to 1990 she moved to Naylor Conservation and worked on sculpture restoration, but returned to Ironbridge in 1990 to open Jackfield Conservation Studio as an independent workshop within the Jackfield Tile Museum. She has published several articles and her projects include the successful completion of the Royal Doulton Frieze 'Pottery Through The Ages' by Bayes, the largest piece of polychromatic ceramic sculpture in the world.
