About the Author, David Hawkins

David Hawkins comes from a long line of balcksmiths - his family have been blacksmithing for over 250 years. The author is the head of the Rochester School of Design. Previously he lectured in 3D design at the National College of Design, Dublin and the University of Plymouth where he completed a PhD on the history of British blacksmithing. Over the years he hs worked extensively with his father and brother in the family balcksmithing businesss both in design and making.
