Synopsis

At the Construction Site, the trucks work together.
What happens at the construction site all day? Come along and discover how dump trucks, backhoes, bulldozers, and cement mixers work together to construct a brand-new building!
The littlest truck driver will love learning the names of these construction vehicles and seeing them in action in this fun, inventively shaped board book.

Children's Literature

Some children are fascinated by trucks and construction sites. If you have such a child, then here is a book that names the trucks and what they do. The cover has a big front loader and opening the die-cut cover reveals five trucks involved in the project. The text notes that the trucks all work together—the bulldozer moves the rocks and other debris, while the backhoe digs a hole in the ground. One would assume that the hole will serve as part of the foundation, because the next scene shows a cement truck pouring the foundation. (It is not usual for a high-rise building to be built on a slab, but that is my quibble with the description of this construction process). The big front loader puts the rocks and dirt into a large dump truck. The next scene shows a crane lifting supplies, but the building does not appear to look anything like the one in the final picture. Look elsewhere for a better description of an actual construction project. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
